Bay Area Metro Center Renovation and Seismic Upgrade
Project headline
San Francisco, CA
The Bay Area Metro Center Renovation and Seismic Upgrade transformed an eight-story historic federal assembly building into a modern, LEED Gold-certified workplace in downtown San Francisco. The project focused on three floors of high-performance interior buildout, featuring energy-efficient daylighting strategies, open floor plans organized into human-scaled “districts and neighborhoods,” and thoughtful material minimalism. Enhancements included a new terrace, the integration of a mature interior tree, and the preservation of natural resources throughout. All construction was completed in a tight urban site—surrounded by active high-rises—with the DEA remaining operational on the top floor throughout.
